Luanda to host international fair on biodiversity, ecotourism

The event will be attended by 30 local and foreign exhibitors with their services, goods and equipment linked to sustainable cleaning and tourism.

This was said on Thursday in Luanda by the national director of Technology and Environmental Norms, António Matias.

The official added that the activity is part of the celebrations of the World Environment Day, whose official event will take place in the capital and is expected to be attended by more than three thousand visitors.


On the fringes of the event, he added, a number of conferences will be held  to tackle illegal trade in fauna and flora.
 

According to the programme of the event, the participants will also discuss issues related to the protection, preservation and conservation of the biodiversity, the international convention on trade in endangered species of flora and fauna.
 

The 15th report, the national strategy and action plan for biodiversity will be presented at the event.

The implementation of the international convention on trade in endangered species of the flora and fauna in Angola, measures to ensure the cooperation of key sectors and the general public in the conservation of biodiversity, focusing on the fight of wildlife crime in Angola in the regional and global contexts are other scheduled topics.

Participants will equally analyse and discuss the national action plan for elephant conservation in Angola, the giant sable antelope conservation project, and others.
