Angola rules out 40 degrees Celsius minimum temperature
Luanda - The information that temperatures in Angola will reach a minimum of 40 degrees Celsius in the next ten days is groundless and devoid of scientific rigour, said Friday the National Meteorology and Geophysics Institute (INAMET).

This is a fake news. “Angola is far from reaching a minimum of this magnitude, a situation which does not occur even in Sao Tome which is near the equator ”, said director general of INAMET, Domingos Nascimento.
News circulating on social media, without authorship, called "Alert-temperature in Angola reaches a minimum of 40 degrees Celsius", states that the equinox phenomenon will affect Angolans and urges for protection and keeping animals indoors, from 11 am.
"In Angola, the problem of ozone depletion is little debated by society, although authorities, students and environmentalists are taking several steps to preserve it," the statement said, noting that fainting from heat stroke is dangerous.
In view of these "speculations", circulating for three days, INAMET reports that the extreme temperatures (minimum and maximum) expected for the main cities of Angola, until 06 pm on Saturday are:
Luanda 24/33, N'dalatando 20/29, Cuito 16/27, Cabinda 25/31, Malanje 17/28, Luena 18/28, Sumbe 23/29, Dundo 22/29, Lubango 19/30 Caxito 22/34 , Saurimo 18/28, Menongue 18/32, Mbanza Congo 20/32, Benguela 23/28, Mocedes 17/28, Uige 19/28, Huambo 11/26 and Ondjiva with 22/35 degrees centigrade.
