Angola hosts SADC civil society organisations forum

Luanda - Angola will host SADC Civil Society Organisations Forum on 12-14 this month, ANGOP has learnt.

The meeting is taking place under the initiative of Great Green Wall (GGWI), a Pan-African programme which leads the sustainability actions in dryland management in Africa.

The objective is to address the challenges of fighting the degradation of ecosystems.
 

The programme also focuses on fighting poverty and building resilience to climate change, access to basic water services, health and education, food security, income diversification, civil security and space for peace and biodiversity conservation. .
 

Non-state SADC actors will meet for first time to deliberate the main and future action to strengthen response capacities and affirm their role in the implementation of GGWI.


It is also intended to create coalitions or movements of civil society organisations to identify specific areas of intervention for better implementation of GGWI.
