According to a press release from the Ministry of the Environment, which reached ANGOP last Thursday, during the event, strategies for the conservation of migratory species worldwide will be reinforced, especially those that reside and transit in Angola.

The note stresses that the participants will speak about the strategic plans on Felids in Africa, the conservation of sea turtles, the protection and conservation of endangered species such as Pangolin, Manatee, as well as issues of environmental impact related to civil engineering.

The document adds that the diversity of biomes, ecosystems, the richness of the national flora and fauna means that there is a favourable habitat for migratory species, thus adding on the country's responsibility to participate regularly in international meetings of the kind.

The Convention on Migratory Species (CMS) is a United Nations instrument that is responsible for the protection and conservation of migratory species and their migration routes, which Angola joined in 2006, whose conclave is held every two years.
