This was said Thursday in Luanda by the Minister of Telecommunications and Information Technologies, Jose Carvalho da Rocha when addressing a lecture on "Angosat - the challenges, benefits and opportunities for the academic community" destined for teachers and students of the Tocoist Politechnic Higher Education Institute.
According to José Carvalho da Rocha, the major challenge with Angosat is to make communications more viable and in this regard the Executive has invested in several actions, highlighting the placement of the optical fiber that will connect all national space and some African countries that are neighbours of Angola.
He announced that one of the great benefits that this satellite will bring to the country besides the transmission of knowledge is the facilitation of communications with African countries, such as the DRC, Zambia and Rwanda that will be able to use the fiber optics deployed along the Railroad of Benguela.
The minister also informed that next Wednesday Angola will be launching the cable that will link Angola to Brazil, being the first to link the African continent to the South American, which will facilitate communications between the two shores of the Atlantic Ocean.
With the entry into operation of the first Angolan satellite (Angosat) in 2017, Angola will have a potential coverage in telecommunications across Africa and parts of Europe.
