The three-day meeting is discussing the latest achievements in expansion of the network, consolidation of partnerships and delivering projects for preservation of marine and coastal ecosystems, for the benefit of all people living around the Atlantic Ocean.
Atlantic Interactions is an ongoing intergovernmental initiative to unleash the full potential of the Atlantic Ocean for society.
It also acts as a framework for scientific and technological collaboration and development of innovative ideas, common policies, shared research programmes and joint projects.

The objective is to develop a new science and technology agenda for an integrating approach to a better understanding of the Atlantic Ocean.
However, the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Technology and Innovation held a workshop on the participation of Angola in the International Center for Scientific Research of the Atlantic (AIR Center).
The workshop served to identifying opportunities (projects and infrastructures) of (AIR Center), as well as identifying potential for Angolan representation at the International Center for Scientific Research of the Atlantic (AIR Center).
The Angolan delegation to the event is led by the incumbent minister, Maria do Rosário Sambo, and integrates National Director of Science and Scientific Research, António de Alcochete; and the Director General of the National Technological Center, Joaquim Ituamba.
