Handball: Petro de Luanda Retain African Champions Cup

Luanda, 09/19 - The female team of Angola`s Petro de Luanda, senior side, retained on Sunday evening, in Abidjan, the African Handball Title after beating (26-21) Rombo Stars of Côte D´Ivoire, in the finals of the Champion clubs Cup.
To win their 10th continental title, the Angolans had to overcome the unfavourable result registered at halftime (11-12).#
In the semi-finals, Petro defeated FAP club of Cameroon by 35-16.
The opponent team in the finals hindered an all-Angolan final with a 35-29 win over ASA. The Angolan club finished the competition in the third position after overcoming FAP with a ten-goal difference (36-26).
In male category, the only Angolan representative, 1º de Agosto, occupied the third position by defeating Real Star of Côte D´Ivoire, by 27-19. The title was conquered by MCA of Algeria, that won with a close 23-22 result against Esperance de Tunis (Tunisia).
