Luanda, 08/14 - After a suffocating first half (13-9), the female team of Petro de Luanda overcame the difficulties in the second half, thus conquering the 9th Babacar Fall Handball Cup, after defeating Rombo Star Of Ivory Coast by 28-22.#

The Angolan team, who lost in the first leg match in Abidjan by 25-26, started the match with a strong determination, and did finish it with a victory.

Since the institutionalisation of Babacar Fall Cup, in honour of the first African Handball Confederation chairperson, in 1994, Petro de Luanda conquered nine trophies, with seven consecutive victories, from 1998 to 2005.

The 1995 and 1997 editions were won by Etoile of Congo and Africa Sport of Abidjan (Ivory Coast).

The Angolans, considered "powerful" handball players in Africa, won respectively in 1994, 1996, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003 and 2005.
