Basketball: Carlos Morais Elected 2007 MVP

Luanda, 06/29 – Petro de Luanda`s wing player, Carlos de Morais was elected as the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the national senior males basketball championship (2007 Season), dethroning his team mate Francisco Jordão.

The election happened at the Award Gala last Thursday night, in Tropical Cinema, promoted by the Angolan Basketball Federation (FAB).

The 21 year old basketball player also beat Olímpio Cipriano and Armando Costa, both from Petro`s archrival (1º de Agosto) in the race for the award.

His team mate Francisco Jordão received the title for the best three-point shooter.

Olímpio Cipriano was the tournament`s best free throw scorer and collected by most rebounds.

Awards were also given to the following players: Vicente Neto (Interclube) "fair play", Felizardo Ambrósio (1º de Agosto) "revelation player of the year", Lifetu Selengue (Interclube) "best rebounder”, Frederick Gentry (Petro de Luanda) "best two points scorer”, Alberto de Carvalho (Petro de Luanda) "coach of the year”, Jorge Tati (Misto de Cabinda) "best of serie B”, and Igor Silva (Vila Clotilde) "best of serie C”.

The award gala was organized by the Angolan Basketball Federation (FAB) in partnership with "Casa Real" sporting events organising company.
