Luanda – The Angolan swimmer, Ana Romero, beat last Saturday in Luanda her own record in the category of 50 metres freestyle, in the preparation tournament for the African absolute swimming championship, to be disputed from 1 to 7 December in South Africa.
The player of Clube Náutico of Luanda Island (CNIL) set the time of 29 seconds and 5 tenths, against 29 seconds and 8 tenths that she obtained last September during the Beijing Olympic Games, in China.
For the same competition, Ruth de Carvalho, who is a player of CNIL, also beat a new record in the category of 50 metres backstroke, setting the time of 32 seconds and 18 tenths.
Swimmers of 1º de Agosto, Clube Náutico of Luanda Island, Luanda International School and Clube Naval of Ilha do Cabo participated in the tournament that was held in Alvalade swimming-pool, in Luanda.
