Luanda- 1º de Agosto’s 5-1 victory over Benfica de Luanda, on Saturday, caused Petro de Luanda to celebrate the conquest of the championship in advance, since there are still two rounds to play before the end of the first division tournament.
The championship’s penultimate round proceeds this Sunday, with Petro de Luanda facing ASA, fifth placed with 34 points.
Petro de Luanda, leaders with 52 points, can even afford to lose Sunday’s match, which will no more affect their position at the standing, currently staying five points ahead of second placed Benfica de Luanda.
This is Petro de Luanda’s 15th first division football championship title, out of 30 editions already disputed.
