Luanda – The Angolan minister of Youth and Sports, Gonçalves Muandumba, Monday in Luanda told ANGOP that due to restrictions imposed by the State Budget for 2012, the Ministry will set priorities and fulfil what is planned and duly authorised.
The Government official was speaking at a meeting of presentation, discussion and approval of the State Budget for 2012 by the 5th Commission of the National Assembly, adding that the budget allocated to the sector, amounting to Akz 4.0 billion (Usd 1 is Akz 10), is insufficient to meet all existing projects.
The minister assured that the participation of the Angolan national teams of football and handball in the African Cups (both for men and women), Olympic and Paralympic games are guaranteed, while other solutions will be sought for to meet the needs of the CPLP and SADC events.
He added that the Angolan head of State, Jose Eduardo dos Santos, is particularly concerned about a good participation of the national teams in the African competitions, having called for due arrangements.
