Luanda - The Angola and Uganda national teams of football are playing at Luanda’s “11 de Novembro” Stadium on Sunday in a first group J match qualifying for the World Cup of 2014 in Brazil.

Under Egyptian referees, the encounter sets the beginning of Angola’s national team campaigning for its second appearance in the World Cup, after that of Germany in 2006.

A crowd of 50,000 spectators are expected to watch the game at the stadium that hosted the kick-off and final of the African Cup of Nations (CAN2010) held in four Angolan cities.

In the FIFA ranking, Angola come in the 78th position with 440 points, against the 93rd of their Sunday’s opponent with 362. Angola also have an advantage in the African Football Confederation (CAF) with 3,075 points in the ninth position over Uganda in the 23nd position and 2967 points.

In the same group, Senegal beat Liberia 3-1 on Saturday.

This is the first round of the five African teams’ qualifiers for the World Cup within two years in Brazil.
