Centre Valdelicio Joaquim expected Thursday in Luanda

Luanda – The Angolan basketball player Valdelicio Joaquim, centre, playing in the United States of America, is to arrive this Thursday in Luanda to join the work of Angola senior males basketball team who are preparing for the African Nations Basketball Cup (Afrobasket2013), to be disputed on 20 to 31 August in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire.
The information was provided Monday by the vice chairman of the Angolan Basketball Federation (FAB), Eurico Araújo.
The 2,08 meters tall player will try to find a place to participate in his second Afrobasket event, after his debut appearance in the African championship of Madagascar, in 2011.
Meanwhile, after two weeks training in the provinces of Bié and Benguela, the national team returned to Luanda on June 30 and resumed training on July 01.
The team will travel on July 8 to Spain where they will hold control games.
Games with Slovenia, Macedonia and Venezuela were already confirmed.
Below is the list of the summoned players, as well as their basketball clubs: Armando Costa, Carlos Almeida, Edmir Lucas, Felizardo Ambrósio, Hermenegildo Santos, Islando Manuel, Joaquim Gomes "Kikas", Reggie Moore (1º de Agosto), António Monteiro, Edson Ndoniema, Muto Fonseca, Olímpio Cipriano and Roberto Fortes (Recreativo do Libolo).
The group will be completed with Carlos Morais, Nivaldo Mbunga, Leonel Paulo, Paulo Santana (Petro De Luanda), Eduardo Mingas and Milton Barros (Interclube), Valdelício Joaquim (Hawai University/USA) and Yanick Moreira (Southern Planes College), also playing in the United States of America.
