Luanda - The pavilion of the northern Malanje province designed to host the 12th edition of the “Ze Du” International Skate Hockey Tournament on 22-25 August is officially called "Palanca Negra," in a reference to the Giant Sable Antelope, a rare species that exists only in Angola.
This was confirmed Monday to Angop by the vice president of the Angolan Skate Hockey Federation (FAP), Pedro Azevedo "Chipita", who added that the infrastructure will be inaugurated on Sunday.
With the capacity to accommodate 3,000 spectators, the inauguration of the pavilion marks the celebrations of the 71th anniversary of the Angolan president, José Eduardo dos Santos.
The source also confirmed the designation of Welwitschia Mirabilis for the multipurpose pavilion based in the south-west Namibe province, designed to host the World Cup.
The undertaking will be inaugurated on September 6.
The Welwitschia Mirabilis also exists only in Angola, in the Namibe Desert.
