Leia Dongue elected MVP of national female basketball championship
Benguela - 1º de Agosto’s power forward, Leia Dongue, was elected Saturday as the MVP (Most Valuable Player) of the 29th edition of the national senior women basketball championship which took place at central Benguela province’s “Acácias Rubras” Pavilion from May 21-31.

The best players of the national women basketball championship were the play-maker of Maculusso club, Maria João, point guards Italee Lucas of Interclube, Latia Williams (1º de Agosto) and power forwards Bernardo (Lusiada) and Mozambican Leia Dongue of 1º de Agosto.
Leia Dongue also won the trophy of best scorer, while Flora Bernarda was the best rebounder of the championship.
Sporting de Benguela was elected best fair-play team at this year championship.
Meanwhile, 1º de Agosto won their 10th national senior women basketball title by defeating Interclube 65-59, in the last game of the championship.
