Basketball: Spanish Moncho Lopez appointed new coach of Angola
Luanda - The Spanish Moncho Lopez is the new coach of the national senior men’s basketball team, in replacement of the Angolan Paulo Macedo, said on Monday in Luanda the president of the Angolan Basketball Federation (FAB), Paulo Madeira.

According to Paulo Madeira, who was speaking in a press conference, the Spanish coach will be assisted by the Angolans Emanuel Trovoada and Manuel Silva.
He explained that, having into account the financial difficulties faced by the country, the new coach, former manager of Spain, meets the financial requisites of FAB and signed a contract until end of August.
Moncho Lopez, who has already coached the Portuguese national team, FC Porto and Gijon of Spain, will start working after the zonal tournament qualifying for the African games, set for 22-28 February in Harare (Zimbabwe).
The zonal tournament will be played by Angola, Zimbabwe, South Africa and Seychelles.
The winner of the zonal tournament will qualify for the African Games of Congo.
