Basketball: Championship set to start Friday
Luanda - The 2016 senior males basketball championship is set to start on Friday, 08 January, with the games scheduled to take place in six different courts.

Twenty days after the dispute in Luanda of the Africa Cup of Nations, won by Angola’s Petro de Luanda team, the lovers of this sport will once more display their emotions in support of their respective teams.
The games will take place in the Cidadela Sports Complex (Pavilion I and II), 28 de Fevereiro Pavilion, Victorino Cunha court, Dream Space pavilion and in the Sporting de Benguela court.
Similarly to what happened in the previous years, the trophy of the championship – also dubbed BIC/Basket, due to the fact that it is currently being sponsored by the BIC Bank - will be disputed by ten teams.
The main contenders for the title are Petro de Luanda, title holders, Recreativo do Libolo, vice-champions, and 1º de Agosto (third placed in the last season).
