Coach Zoran Maki wants a strong 1º de Agosto team in 2018
Luanda - The 1º de Agosto football squad’s new coach, Zoran Maki, on Wednesday in Luanda said that he counts on the support of the club’s board to form a group that is capable to respond well to the four challenges the team will face in the 2018 season.

Speaking at his presentation ceremony, the new coach, the Serbian Zoran Maki, reminded that the team will be engaged in the Super Cup, first division National Football Championship (Girabola), Angolan League Cup and the competition of access to the African Champion Clubs Cup.
He expressed his awareness about the possible difficulties the squad can encounter.
Coach Zoran Maki - who replaced the Bosnian Dragan Jovic (who rescinded the contract after winning the 2017 Girabola title – deemed it important for the supporters to stand behind the squad.
In view of the coming football season, 1º de Agosto have hired the Nigerian defender Kehind Yisa Anifowoshe (previously playing for Oman’s Alitihat team), the Congolese striker Jacques Bitumbe (from Angola’s Kabuscorp do Palanca) and the Burundian Fiston Abdul Razak (from South Africa’s Mamelodi Sundowns).
From local teams, the club got reinforced with the midfielder Bonifácio (from Desportivo da Huíla), goalkeeper Neblu (Interclube), as well as received two players from its junior category area, namely Cirilo and Mário.
The final team will be presented on January 29, 2018.
Zoran Maki, who in 2010 was 1º de Agosto’s assistant coach, has already managed the Angolan squads of Kabuscorp do Palanca and Sagrada Esperança.
