In view of the brilliant performance in the National Championship (BIC-Basket2017), with 25 victories and one defeat, coincidently the same as the opponent, Recreativo do Libolo will be facing 1º de Agosto to try and correct the previous mishap and take the lead in the country’s second top competition.
With 51 points in the 39th edition of the BIC-Basket, followed by 1º de Agosto (45), Libolo will be seeking to attest to its dominance in a full-house match with no anticipated winner.
Judging by the profile of both teams with such stars of the national basketball as Olímpio Cipriano and Eduardo Mingas (Libolo), and Emanuel Quezada, Hermenegildo Santos (1º de Agosto), and others, the match promises to be a true final duel in anticipation worth watching.
The encounter has also the peculiarity of bringing face to face two Spanish coaches, Hugo Lopez (Libolo) and Ricardo Casas (1º de Agosto), which also anticipates a battle of wits from the coaching benches.
In their journey to the semi-finals, the two teams had to eliminate Progresso Sambizanga and Marinha, respectively.
The other semi-final match will bring into the battle field Interclube – that ousted Petro de Luanda – and Atlético Sport Aviação (ASA) that beat Lusíada out.
