Football: Progresso da Lunda Sul team may quit Girabola2017
Saurimo - The president of Progresso da Lunda Sul, António Jamba, manifested on Tuesday his team’s intention to quit the national first division football championship (Girabola2017) in the forthcoming days due to financial reasons.

Speaking to the press on the team’s absence from the Tuesday’s match against Progresso do Sambizanga, the official requested the support of the provincial government and other sponsors.
He also admitted the possibility of writing to the Angolan Football Federation (FAF) expressing the intention to quit Girabola2017, as players have gone on strke due to the lack of payment for eight months.
The team lost by default to Progresso do Sambizanga.
Progresso do Sambizanga rose to the sixth position with 34 points, while Progresso da Lunda Sul remain 14th place with 18 points.
1º de Agosto lead the competition with 50 points.
