Football/Cup: 1º de Maio beat Sagrada Esperança

Benguela - 1º de Maio de Benguela beat last Sunday Sagrada Esperança da Lunda Norte by 3-2, in the first-leg encounter of the Angola Cup quarterfinals played in the Municipal Stadium, in the central Benguela Province.

Sagrada Esperança took the lead in the score at minute 24 through a penalty shootout scored byTresor, which saw the two teams finish half time with a 1-0 advantage to the visitors.

In the second half, Pena increased the lead for the visitors, at minute 50, but the home team changed the result through Brazuca (57 min) and Caporai (86 min).

Caporai managed to increase the joy of 1º de Maio de Benguela players by scoring the squad’s third goal on overtime period.

The second-leg match is set for this Wednesday in Dundo City, north-eastern Lunda Norte Province.
