To reach this stage, Interclube kocked out Progresso da Lunda Sul in the last 16th, while 1º de Agosto went through Académica do Lobito. Taking into account the squad and the level presented in recent times by both teams, a balanced match is expected.

In another match, Estádio dos Coqueiros will also host the derby between Progresso do Sambizanga and Kabuscorp do Palanca, two teams without any chance to win Girabola and who have their eyes on the cup to save the football season 2017.

On the same day, 1º de Maio of Benguela will take on Bravos dos Maquis, while the match between Santa Rita de Cássia do Uíge and Petro de Luanda happens Sunday.

It seems a difficult move for Petro, as Santa Rita was the "executioner" of the trophy holders, Recreativo do Libolo. Petro de Luanda went through as JGM of Huambo did not show up for the match, along with d'Agosto, "fight" for the two competitions (championship and cup).

In the last 16th round , 1º de Maio overcame Lunda's Sagrada Esperança and the representative of Moxico eliminated Atlético Sport Aviação (ASA).
