Angola seeking improvement in Youth Games
Luanda - Angola is getting ready for the 3rd African Youth Games on 18 - 28 July in Algeria, eyeing to improve the 13th place of the previous Edition.

The fact was confirmed in Luanda by the head of National Delegation, Auxilio Jacob, while speaking to Angop on Tuesday.
Also former Angolan President of the Gymnastics Federation (FAG) and member of the Executive Commission of the Olympic Committee (COA), Auxilio Jacob, due to financial hardship the categories are working accordingly with the conditions created by respective federations.
"Scarcity of financial resources obliged the Committee to reduce the number of participants and assign the federations themselves the responsibility for preparation”, the sports official stressed.
He added the main objective of the work is to improve the 13th place obtained in Botswana in 2014, "he reiterated.
Sixty-one members - 48 athletes and 11 coaches, two physicians, four physiotherapists, nine managers and one interpreter – are to represent the country at the event.
The Angola’s categories include those of swimming (5), handball (12), canoeing (1), gymnastics (12), sailing (2), table tennis (2), karate ), athletics (2), judo (2) and rowing (1).
The first Edition was held in Morocco in 2010.
