Handball: Angolan team travels to Denmark without goalkeeper "Bá"

Luanda - Angolan women?s handball team left on Wednesday to Denmark to participate as from August 16-19 in a pre-competitive tournament, leaving behind the team?s goalkeeper Teresa Almeida "Bá".

To fulfill the void left by the goalkeeper, who was ruled out of the squad due to health problems (paludism), the team called 1º de Agosto player Helena Sousa, Angop learnt.

The team is made up by:

Helena de Sousa ,Swelly Simão,Isabel Guialo, Magda Cazanga, Joana Costa, Azenaide Carlos , Wuta Dombaxi, Helena Paulo, Dalva Peres,Vilma Nenganga,Claudeth José, Elizabeth Cailo and Janete dos Santos, Albertina Cassoma, Edith Mbunga and Liliana Venâncio.

In Denmark Angola is expected to play three matches against the hosting team, Germany and Cuba, which will mark the first stage of their preparation for the African Women’s Handball Championship in Congo.

Angola is seeking to regain the title achieved in 2016 in Luanda, in which the goalkeeper Teresa de Almeida “Bá” had been elected best player of the competition.
