Multi-sport: 1º de Agosto plans to have a higher institute of physical education

Luanda - The 1º de Agosto club will have, in the near future, a Higher Institute of Physical Education and Sports, to better contribute to the development of the sector in the country, said Monday in Luanda, its president, Carlos Hendrick.

Without putting forward the exact date of this intention, the club leader, who announced the fact at the inauguration ceremony of the Paulo Bunze Pavilion, said only that the infrastructure, to be built in the Sports City, is one of the projects running its direction.

"In addition to the multi-purpose pavilion Paulo Bunze, it is important to highlight that we have already built training camps, swimming pools and others. Also in anticipation, the museum, the institute for teachers of physical education and other projects, which as far as the possibilities will be realized, for the benefit of the Angolan club and sport, "he said.

He added that the intentions of these projects, which also include a television channel of the club, among others, aims to ensure the adequate training of talents, which can achieve positive results and increase the prestige of the association and national sport.

Paulo Bunze, already deceased, was a skilled Handball player 1º de Agosto, of the national team, who also made career in Portugal.

Founded on August 1, 1977, the club comprises the modalities of  football, basketball, handball, volleyball, athletics, swimming, roller hockey, chess, taekwondo, sailing, clay pigeon shooting, tennis, judo, kayaking, fishing and karate.
