In this tournament, the national team began the group stage (B) with defeat against Senegal by 76-77, then added three successive triumphs, namely to Tunisia (73-68), Rwanda (80-79) and Algeria ( 86-50).

In the quarter-finals, they eliminated the Democratic Republic of Congo (62-44), but in the semi-finals they failed to outperform the host team, thus failing to revalidate the trophy the title won in 2016, in Rwanda.

The final will be between Mali and Senegal.
