Speaking at the meeting with the secretary of State for Sport, Carlos Almeida, held in Luanda’s Cidadela Sports Complex, Hamad Kalkaba Malboum - who is also the chairman of Cameroon’s Olympic Committee and is visiting Angola since last Sunday – said that he knows well the capacities of Angolans, adding that this southern African country needs major support from international institutions, so that it can intensify the promotion and materialisation of sports programmes countrywide.

He reminded that he was not in Angola for the first time, adding that he knows very well the potential and the state of Angolan sport, which, he stressed, can reach higher levels if there is greater investment from the state and other partners.

Hamad Kalkaba Malboum – also vice chairman of the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) - expressed his willingness to personally engage in making contacts with international institutions, so that Angola can get support for its sports development programme.

The CAA official, who is being accompanied by the institution’s secretary general, David Ojong, has already checked several sports infrastructures in Luanda, as well as visited the Military History National Museum.
