50-year old, he led Angola to the unprecedented seventh place in a World Championship, France'2007.

The former coach of ASA, a team that won the national championship in 1998, promoted a generation of athletes who scored a golden phase of Angolan handball, especially Odete Tavares, Elzira Barros, Cilizia Tavares and Justina Praça.

The coach suffered a stroke in December 2008, after the victory of the national team of the African Championship, held in Luanda.

In spite of this, he has remained active in the service of handball and sport in general, for example, attending seminars, national championships and preparation of the teams.

He was a regular participant in the "São Silvestre" end-of-year pedestrian race, the last of which was held on December 31, 2018.
