Speaking to Radio - 5, he said that the situation stems from the sponsors' lack of compliance with the financial agreement.

He admitted the possibility that the group will not be able to remain in the top division football championship (Girabola2018/19) at a time when the club is hoping for greater sensitivity from the sponsors.

On February 1st, the athletes of the basketball team, ranked 5th in the Senior  Men's Championship, with 29 points, admitted to giving up the competition due to lack of payments.

This is not the first time that this historic Angolan sports club has experienced financial problems. In 2017, the players also went on strike for wages and game prizes in arrears, which contributed to the relegation of the soccer squad, having returned to the first division in the present season.

Founded on April 1, 1953, ASA club, whose traditional main sponsor has been the country’s flag airliner (TAAG), has activities in different sports, especially football (champions in 2002, 2003 and 2004), basketball (1980, 1996 and 1997) and women's handball (1998).
