Petro’s coach made this statement in the end of the fourth game of the Final Playoff of the top division basketball championship, which the squad lost (70-73), a result that suspended their celebration for the 2019 title.

The Final Playoff is being disputed in the system of best of seven games, with Petro ahead of the overall result (3-1).

Coach Lazaré Adingono went on to explain that another contributor to his team’s defeat were mistakes made in the defence sector, as well as some lack of luck.

“We had the game under control, yet we lost because of the mistakes we made in the final part. Nevertheless, our players showed dignity, so we’re going to work to improve what we lack for the Wednesday game”, Mr Adingono assured.

He also commended the way the opponents (1º de Agosto squad) organised themselves and showed experience during the game, especially in the last few minutes of the encounter in which they managed to score in crucial moments.

The fifth playoff game is scheduled for this Wednesday, at 06.00 pm, in Victorino Cunha Pavillion (Luanda City), home of 1º de Agosto.

In the previous three games 1º de Agosto lost 84-89, 66-75 and 71-74.
