Angola withdraw from Cosafa Cup on financial grounds
Luanda -Angolan Football Federation has withdrawn its national soccer team from Cosafa Cup competition, running on 25 May - 8 June in Durban, South Africa, due to financial constraints.

The Angolan Football Federation announced this in a note delivered to ANGOP on Sunday (19).
According to the source, the scant resources available will be earmarked for the preparation of the national team that will participate in the African Cup of Nations (CAN2019) on June 21 – July 19 in Egypt.
Angola and eSwatini (ex-Swaziland) will face off in Cosafa Cup debut match on 25 May at King Zwelithini Stadium, in the first round game of Group A.
Angola have won the competition three times: 1999, 2001 and 2004.
