CAF president Ahmad released after interrogation in France
Luanda - The president of Confederation of African Football (CAF) Ahmad Ahmad was freed Friday without a formal charge or bail claim, after being arrested for questioning, the Marseilles public prosecutor has announced.

The Prosecutor Xavier Tarabeux said Ahmad was arrested in Paris on Thursday and questioned, as part of a probe into criminal association, corruption, breach of trust and false testimony.
Ahmad, who is also vice president of FIFA, had been Paris for the organisation’s congress, which re-elected Gianni Infantino FIFA president.
The Malagasy Ahmad Ahmad was elected president of CAF in 2017, defeating the Cameroonian Issa Hayatou in the elections held in Addis Ababa.
Issa Hayatou had been at the helm of Caf since 1988.
