The former footballer has been banned from performing any sport activity by FIFA, due to a USD 260,000 fee he owes to Qatar SC.
The fine was imposed by FIFA following a dispute the player had with Qatar SC Football Club, after he was found guilty for making himself unavailable for the Qatar club, while representing the Angolan national team.
However, the ex-player explained that during the preparation for the holding of Africa Cup of Nations that Angola host in 2010, he was officially assured that FAF would sort out the issue; however such has not been accomplished so far.
Akwá started his professional career in 1992. He played for Nacional de Benguela and Portuguese Sport Lisbon and Benfica, Alverca and Académica de Coimbra.
He also played for Qatar SC, Al-Wakra and Al-Gharafa.
He retired in 2008, after representing Angola’s Petro de Luanda.
