The ANFA has 314 members registered throughout the country, and 164 of them attended the electoral session which elected in a single list, Igor do Nascimento, with 161 votes in favour, no votes against and without abstention. Only three votes were invalidated.

Among the objectives, ANFA aims to defend, promote and develop the rights and sports and social interests of  Angolan football and practitioners.

In his first speech, Igor Nascimento thanked the trust placed on him by the associates and promised to fulfil the objectives which guided the creation of ANFA.

In the electoral ballot voted members of the provinces of Luanda (141), Cabinda (58), Benguela (44), Bié (14), Moxico (17), Huambo (12), Huila (17), Namibe (8) and Malanje (3).

However, in administrative terms, the ANFA previously was called Angolan Footballers Union (SIFA) and was legalized on 24 September 2019.

Meanwhile, in addition to ANFA, the country has the Association of Former Footballers of Angola (AAFA), under leadership also by a former Angolan international, Quim Sebas.
