Luanda - The former basketball player Manuel da Costa e Sousa, was appointed Saturday head coach of the 1º de Agosto senior men's basketball team.

The 57-year-old coach and the club have signed a two-year contract, according to the team's website.
Speaking to the press, the coach said he will do everything in his power not to defraud the confidence placed on him, adding that he intends to work with rigor and discipline to reverse what he considers to be a bad phase and put the team back to the top of the league and continental rankings.
Manuel Nazareth da Costa e Sousa was born on 18 September 1962 in Luanda.
He was a remarkable athlete thanks to the quality he had to score three points, becoming one of the best in this aspect of the game.
