Sumbe - Some 14,000 hectares of rice will be produced this year in the districts of Musssende and Kassongue, central Kwanza Sul province, by the Brazilian "Complantil" firm, ANGOP has learnt.
The production is part of an existing agreement between the Brazil's Santa Cruz University and the farming and social project dubbed "Zambia (Amboim)".
The project's co-ordinator, Sungulês Bartolomeu, told ANGOP that USD 25 million will be invested.
"7,000 hectares of rice will be planted in Mussende district, similar to the amount to be cultivated in Kassongue", the source said.
