FPSO CLOV baptised

Porto Amboim - The Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) platform (CLOV- Cravo, Lírio, Orquídea e Violeta) owned by the French oil company (Total) was baptised Thursday in Porto Amboim, central Kwanza Sul province, Angop learned.

The four-field (Cravo, Lírio, Orquídea e Violeta) project, the fourth deep waters initiative on Angola’s Block 17, will operate in the Low Congo basin as from the second semester of 2014, with a production of 160,000 barrels a day.

Launched in August 2010, the project is located 140 kilometres northwest of Luanda with a depth of up o 1,400 metres and a global exploration area of 381 square kilometres.

CLOV will need 34 submarine wells connected to the FPSO, with a production capacity of 160,000 barrels a day and a storage capacity for 1,7 million barrels.

The FPSO CLOV was designed in South Korea with some components built in Angola.

The ceremony was witnessed by the Angolan First Lady,  Ana Paula dos Santos, the Secretary of State for Oil, Anibal Silva, Kwanza Sul province Governor, Eusébio de Brito, the CEO of the Angolan Oil Company (Sonangol), Francisco Lemos and the Director-general of Total Angola, Jean Michel Lavergne.
