Monte Car and Lunguembia are recycling the above mentioned type of materials under the programme of use of renewable technologies, seeking to contribute to a better environment.

Speaking to Angop, Monte Car production director, Ricardo Carreiro, said the plant produces 50 tyres a day, using used tyres as raw material.

He said the factory has in store five thousand tyres gathered from dump sites in the provinces of Huambo, Huila and Cuando Cubango, that will be used as raw material for new tyres.

Ricardo Carneiro said the plant has a manpower of 14 workers, stressing that truck tyres are the most sought for.

As the Lunguembia, the plant has a daily production of 400 plastic buckets, 1200 chairs, 450 tables, 1000 pins and 700 bowls, by recycling plastic materials bought from people who gather them from streets.

The two plants that started operating last year are helping reduce the amount of plastic litter and used tyres thrown away, thus reducing the negative impact of such objects on the environment.
