Angola: CMC and Ministry of Education sign cooperation deal

Luanda - The Capital Market Commission (CMC) and the Ministry of Education signed on Wednesday a cooperation protocol aimed at introducing subjects related to the financial market in the education system.

According to a press release from CMC that reached Angop, the new signed protocol is a statement of intent by the two institutions, recognizing the importance and need to include academic contents in the various levels of education, to ensure that children and youths of the country are able to cope efficiently with their personal finances throughout the various stages of life.

The agreement is intended to include in the curriculum of Secondary Education and Technical Vocational Education materials on financial literacy, and promote quality training for teachers, structured to meet the needs and specific guidelines of each sub-system.

The two institutions also aim to establish mechanisms for cooperation with other public and private entities, seeking to develop synergies, optimize resources and accumulate the knowledge necessary for the proper pursuit of the objectives of the newly signed deal.

The CMC is the institution responsible for regulating, supervising, monitoring and promoting the Securities Markets and Derivatives in Angola.
