According to a press release that reached Angop Thursday, the EXIM Bank wants to provide funding mechanisms to support trade between the United States and other countries, including Angola.

"Through the EXIM Bank, the US Government works globally with public and private sector buyers to facilitate the acquisition of US equipment and technology" explains the note, without disclosing date on how the meeting will be held.

In 2014, the EXIM Bank signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Angolan Government to finance trade and infrastructures, using the EXIM financing tools.

This memo identifies several economic sectors, including energy, infrastructure, railways, roads, mining, telecommunications, agriculture and the supply of construction equipment and environment, as well as water and sanitation projects.

Since the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding, the EXIM Bank provided financial support to Angola to allow the purchase of Boeing aircraft by Angola Airlines (TAAG) and the acquisition by the National Company of Exploration and Air Navigation (ENANA) of two Fire trucks manufactured by the US company, Oshkosh.

Still in the framework of the MoU, the US Embassy’s commercial services in Angola has supported some Angolan companies in the knowledge of equipment, technologies and US service providers.
