Fishing boats come into operation in Porto Amboim

Sumbe - At least three fishing vessels belonging to the Fighters Associations of Ebo in the coastal Cuanza Sul province started Monday in Porto Amboim district the fishing activity in the maritime waters of the region.

Fishing vessels delivered to Fighters Association of Ebo

With capacity up to three tons of fish each, the vessels were delivered in the last three days by the provincial governor of Cuanza Sul, Eusébio de Brito Teixeira.

The initiative is part of the Government project to combat poverty, whose the Fighters Association is in charge of their management, catch, income and maintenance.

The local made vessel cost each about USD 63,000.

Addressing on behalf of members, Bernardo Mateus pledged to take care of the means, which, according to him, will contribute to increase fishing in the region to diversify the food in communities.
