ANGOP has learnt that each farm will have about 5000 square metres and an initial stock of about 200,000 heads of cattle. Alongside this project, the Cuchi metallurgy company will be producing, 500 tons of iron every year.

Afonso Pedro Canga explained that the project will not just bring about more jobs for the province but also contribute to the increase of the country’s meat production and reduction of importations, as well as will involve Angolan entrepreneurs from different provinces.

The Agriculture minister also assured that Angola has conditions to implement such initiative, which he said was approved by the Angolan Head of State, José Eduardo dos Santos, in the framework of the diversification plan of the country’s economy.

The project’s presentation ceremony was also attended by the minister of Geology and Mining, Francisco Queirós, and the governor of the north-western Luanda Province, Higino Carneiro, among other guests.
