Fisheries sector among Government’s priorities until 2017
Luanda - The minister of Fisheries, Victoria de Barros Neto, said Tuesday in Luanda that the Angolan Government outlines as general objectives of the sector for 2013-2017 period the promotion of competitiveness and the development of industrial and artisanal fishing sustainably.

The Government official said so at the opening of the annual meeting of the technical cooperation program between the Republic of Angola and the Kingdom of Norway.
According to the minister, the fisheries sector in Angola plays a key role in the development of the country, in particular in food security and job creation especially from the artisanal fishing activity and semi-industrial fishing.
On the other hand, the minister said she would like to see strengthened actions concerning the training or formal training making use not only of the Norwegian universities, but also from other Portuguese-speaking countries either through participation in international events.
