This was said Friday in Luanda by the minister of Geology and Mining, Francisco Queiroz, at the opening of the 6th session of the Planageo Multi-sector Commission.

According to the minister, his assertion is based on four relevant factors of the development of Planageo, namely preliminary geological information produced through aero-geophysic survey, circumstantial constraints in implementation of Planageo and solution encountered in multi-sector concert environment .

The minister said the aero-geophysic survey that is expected complete in the last quarter of 2016 shows 773 targets, 138 of which considered priority.

Francisco Queiroz stated that though in its preliminary stage, the geological information obtained so far enabled the detection of  hundreds of magnetic abnormalities with relevant signs for prospecting of metallic minerals like gold, iron and copper.

As to the Planageo infrastructure, namely sample analysis laboratories, the minister said the construction has reached 83 percent in Luanda, 100 percent in Lubango (Huíla) and 88 in Saurimo (Lunda Sul).

Francisco Queiroz said Usd 116.8 million, corresponding to 29 percent of the Planageo budget, has been spent so far.

According to the official, the current financial crisis facing the country has affected Planageo, with delays in paying operators, which has hindered the aero-physic survey and delayed the start of the geological and geochemical survey.

The 6th session of the Planageo Multisector Commission was attended by the ministers of Planning and Territory Development, Territory Administration and Geology and Mining Ministry officials.
