According to the official, the project, which is to be executed in an area of 35,000 hectares, also has the aim to reduce the importation of cereals, such as rice, wheat flour and maize flour.

“Cuvango is a municipality with hydric potential. Therefore, we have all the interest to accept the invitation addressed to us by the provincial governor of Huila to invest in this filed of economic activity”, he explained.

Rui Kapose also said that this project is to provide employment to thousands of peasant families of this region.

Cuvango Municipality, located about 356 kilometres off the province’s capital, Lubango, has a population estimated at 75,805 people, according to the 2014 census carried out by the Angolan government, through the National Statistics Institute (INE).
