Angola: AIA to speed up development of micro and small companies

Luanda - Acceleration of the development of micro, small and medium companies in face of the current financial situation of the country and support the government to make efficient public spending are the main challenges of the Industrial Association of Angola (AIA) for 2016.

The information was released to Angop Wednesday in Luanda by the president of AIA, José Severino, alongside the forum of Japanese Trade Mission to Angola, in an initiative of the Japan’s Chamber of Commerce in South Africa and Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO).

On the occasion, AIA boss said that to have a sustainable industry and create the competitiveness index is necessary to encourage entrepreneurs to invest in raw materials within the country and reduce red tape in providing visas, creating a favourable business environment.

He considered Japanese companies a platform to be prioritized given the diversity of intervening in the field of new technologies in the mining sector, agriculture, fisheries and environmental issues, making it possible to achieve economic sustainability and strengthen international cooperation in the country.

According to him, the interest of Japan in Angola is based on the idea of ​​having a development platform in the southern region, which could meet the country's challenge to enter the free trade zone in the medium term and help much, with reciprocal advantages, in the growth of Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
