Namibe: Peasants happy with rains in Camucuio

Namibe - The peasants of Camucuio municipality, 234 kilometers north of Namibe province, expressed on Thursday his satisfaction at the rains that are falling the locality, after a period of drought that hit the region for more than four years.

Speaking to Angop, the peasants said that rains that are falling with some regularity in the region is allowing to increase crop production in the prepared fields.

They explained that some of the cultures thrown to the ground at the end of last year were dragged by the current of the water, but once finished other seeds will be planted, especially tomato, maize and millet.

The chieftain of Camucuio municipality, Macuva Teixeira, said that the people will soon improve their living standards, the local lands are arable for agriculture and pasture.
