Moxico predicts over one million tons harvest

Luchazes - The farmers foresee to harvest 1. 1 million tones of products, including rice, tomato, peanuts, beans and cassava during 2017/2018 agricultural campaign, opened Friday in Luchazes municipality, eastern Moxico province.

According to the provincial director of Agriculture, António da Silva, 221,000 hectares have been prepared, and will involve 141 families from 219 associations of peasants.

More than 490,000 tones of products were harvested in the previous campaign, he said,

predicting success for the current 2017/2018 agricultural season due to the availability of inputs, technical means, assistance and regularity of rains.
