Economy minister evaluates programmes in Benguela

Luanda - Angolan minister of Economy Abrahao Gourgel started Friday a three-day working visit to the coastal Benguela Province to assess the ongoing programmes, as part of the government strategy to tackle economic and financial crisis.

Abrahao Gourgel was speaking to ANGOP at Luanda airport shortly before his departure to Catumbela Municipality, where he will start his official visit.

The official said that he will also monitor the projects related to the Angola Investe Programme, which finances the private sector, mainly in the fields of agriculture, livestock, industry and fisheries.

The agenda includes visits to different economic and industrial infrastructure in Catumbela, Lobito and Baia Farta as well as other municipalities.

Meetings with provincial government officials and managers from different branches of the economy, is also part of the minister's visiting programme in Benguela.
